Joseph Kim Drinkwater, D.D.S
Dr. Joseph Drinkwater is a comprehensive general dentist practicing cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, orthodontics (braces and Invisalign), and general dentistry. He was born in South Korea and grew up in San Jose, California, where he attended Piedmont Hills High School. He entered the University of California at Los Angeles, CA, and graduated with a degree in Mathematics, BA. Dr. Drinkwater always aspired to become a dentist and achieved this goal when he graduated from the University of the Pacific, Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. Upon his graduation, he entered the United States Army Dental Corps. After his officer basic training at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, he completed a General Dentistry Residency at Fort Benning, Georgia. Following three years of active duty in Camp Walker, Tae-Gu, South Korea, he returned to the Bay Area where he started his private practice in San Leandro, CA. Later, he opened a second office in Cupertino, CA. In December 2005, his family moved to Killeen, TX, to continue his private practice, Central Family Dental, in the largest military community in the United States. He proudly served the United States Army Reserve as a General Dental Officer, performing his duties at Fort Hood, TX, and Tripler AMC/Scofield Barracks DC, Hawaii. He finally retired from the Reserve after thirty years of service. He is married to Sarah Drinkwater and has three lovely daughters: Kristen (dentist), Candice (pharmacist), and Kimberly (medical student). In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and ocean fishing.
